Melted, molded skin clings
like a soaked nightgown
on terrified flesh. I've waited

watched dust fall into mounds

My lungs are flat
paper bags emptied of groceries

Beyond gasps and bulging eyes

Chin prominent
Blood shot eyes drained
lie white
blind to color
to the dark
