Focus and Scope
The Harrow is an Open Access peer-reviewed online literary magazine devoted to publishing original and complete works of fantasy and horror. Young, new, and amateur writers are especially welcome to submit their work. Writers will participate in a formal review process and work with the editor on any revisions that are requested before acceptance. The Harrow is intended to be a place to begin rather than to end and works to support writers as they develop their careers.

Peer Review Process
The fiction editor and poetry editor will assign submissions to their respective sections to members of The Harrow's reviewer pool according to the reviewer's expertise. A double-blind review system is used. Reviewers will provide prompt and constructive reviews of each submission, including comments to the author, based on the submission's subject matter, creative handling of the topic, and overall style and technical expertise. The editor will forward the reviewer's comments to the author, along with the editor's own comments and decision, to the author.
Every effort will be made to process manuscripts within 6-8 weeks of submission.
Publication Frequency
The Harrow is published on the first of each month.
Archiving
This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
