One entry per contestant. Do not send a story that has been published before or that is currently under review at another publication.

Submit stories in the body of the email with italics somehow indicated, or as a Microsoft Word, .rtf, or .txt attachment ONLY. All other programs are unreadable by our computers and the stories will be disqualified.

Make sure you indicate "CONTEST" in the subject line or the story will be considered a regular submission to The Harrow magazine.

Stories cannot be returned.

The Harrow normally offers detailed critiques of stories submitted, but due to the volume of submissions we can not provide critiques of contest submissions.

The Harrow receives nonexclusive First Electronic (World Wide Web) Publishing Rights for the first-, second-, and third-place winning stories. Please note that all works published on The Harrow are archived indefinitely.

Stories are judged by a blind submission process. All identifying information in stripped from each story before being sent to Harrow contest judges. Ties will be broken by the Contest Editor.

ELIGIBILITY:

Staff of The Harrow are not eligible to enter this contest.

PRIZES:

First Prize: $50 plus publication in The Harrow.
Second prize: $25 plus publication in The Harrow.
Third prize: $10 plus publication in The Harrow.
